The Return Of RVs To Alaska
This summer we saw lots of large RV's on Alaska's roads. These RV campers are different from their parents of 15 years ago. They are more sophisticated, more interested in history and culture -- and very open to actually understanding why people live here, how we live -- and the services we offer.

Visitor Counts Are Up 8% This Summer Tok Visitor Center statistics are up for the second year in a row. Hold on to your hat. This is just the beginning. As people begin to be able to sell their homes again, more are going to chose a small apartment and an RV.
In Fairbanks: Bed Taxes Back Up At 2008 Levels
We've been noticing how busy Fairbanks hotels have been this summer. Then, a September 10th news story by the Associated Press reported that Fairbanks bed taxes have gone back up to the levels in 2008 -- up $200,000 from this time last year. (2008 is pretty much acknowledged to have been a banner year for Alaska's travel businesses.)
