Independent Travelers Fan Out All Over Alaska From Hub Gas Station In Copper Valley

Key entry location.
Glennallen is a small community. But it is an actual "hub"
for multiple roads heading north, south, east and west.

Thousands Of Travelers Swarm the Hub Gas Station at the Junction of the Glenn & Richardson Highways

The "Hub" is located in Glennallen, and is where two major eastern roadways meet. This is one of the busiest gas stations in Alaska. It's visited by independent tourists of all kinds, headed all over the state.

Our travel publications are placed in stands at the Hub at its two entrances, with all four guides -- the East Alaska Bearfoot, the Parks Highway Bearfoot, the Anchorage/Kenai Bearfoot, and the Denali Summer Times -- available in rows at each entrance.

This summer, we have seen the fastest pick-up rate of our guides there since 2008, the peak year for Alaska tourism. We've been bringing in at least five cases of guides to the Hub every few days. On Labor Day Weekend, the lines waiting for gas extended across the huge parking lot from the pumps all the way to the Glenn Highway. This is a sign that Independent travel is strong -- and that people are still on the move.
