Alaska Has A Growing Popularity With Families Looking For Adventure In The Wilds

Tapping Into More Markets And Customers

To increase your market share, we are targeting three other groups to increase your market. These groups are are vital to tourism success.

Families visiting Alaska.
Families like Alaska -- just as they love Hawaii.
Military Families - Help Make Their Time In Alaska Great!

There are military bases in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and and Delta Junction. Many military families are young and have just arrived in Alaska. Military families want information on where to go during the summer months, and with this in mind, we are providing military organizations in Fairbanks, Seward and Anchorage with our travel publications for use on base, or at facilities.

Alaska Is "Family Friendly"
Families all over America want to show their kids something exciting, adventurous, educational -- and lasting. There's been a 75% rebound in the economy after the recent "crash" and we're seeing positive results in Alaska's tourism. We've seen a larger number of children in tow on the roads, flying north with their parents to see glaciers, animals, and all that other exciting Alaskan "educational" stuff they see on TV back home. If they can afford to take their family to Hawaii, they can afford to take their family to Alaska.

Road Trips Around Alaska

Visiting families and relatives want adventures they can do on their own. Like flightseeing, a trip to Talkeetna, Cooper Landing or Hatcher Pass, a raft trip, a trip to see Alaskan animals, kennels, or glaciers, scenery – and even a road trip farther afield, to Denali or Valdez for example. And, we're not forgetting that huge group of potential "tourists" -- the 280,000 people living in Anchorage itself. Many are young, new to the state, and not set in their ways about where to go when they leave town. All are open to persuasion to try something new. With this in mind, we're getting more guides into places they frequent: Trendy and family restaurants, Anchorage tourist spots, and major shopping areas.
